Brutus is an S-Level Warrior of the Mauler faction. His kit is split between surviving damage and dealing it. He's a very simple character, which may lead to his ease of use.
His most iconic skill is "Indomitable", which causes him to go Invulnerable the first time he takes fatal damage. Unlike Thoran who goes Invulnerable and lets enemies walk through him, Brutus remains on the field to take the aggro, making him more consistent in that regard. Additionally, "Ferocious Roar" helps with this, as it taunts all nearby enemies and inflicts them with a Phys DEF shred for a long while.
His Ultimate, "Whirlwind Wrath" causes him to beyblade in place, dealing AoE damage around him. This is particularly strong with his Hero Focus, which grants him Life Drain (extra if he's using his Ultimate); this is great when he's in the middle of a group of enemies and under the effect of "Indomitable", and you'll often see Brutus go from 1 to 100% HP in a matter of moments. The problem comes after the Invulnerable wears off; due to getting targeted by the taunt on his "Ferocious Roar".
His Exclusive Weapon unlocks "Cleaving Strike", which causes Brutus to periodically perform an AoE attack that also heals him, further lending to his survivability and AoE damage.
Brutus is great, solid on pretty much all fronts with very few actual weaknesses, but since his kit lacks defensive measures, once his immortality ends, he often quickly dies. This leads to him being used more in dual-tank teams as sharing aggro helps him stay alive longer.

In this team, Brutus and Cecia will be a destructive pair, sweeping away all enemies on the way. Upgrade Brutus to Mythic + to become a real fighting machine, causing huge damage based on his HP %. Together with Antandra, Brutus will create a solid defensive wall, discouraging enemies.
Don't forget to invest in Rowan and Cecia to maximize your team's power. If you're lucky enough to have Koko at Ascension, feel free to replace her with Antandra . Brutus will then become the focal point, protected by his 6 seconds of invulnerability and Koko's buff power, ready to crush all opponents and dominate the battlefield!

When an ally uses 3 Ultimate Strikes, it will summon a stream of fire that deals true damage based on % HP and reduces the enemy's attack speed.
Rowan helps the team restore Energy quickly, so it is very convenient to use this Relic.
Brutus and Cecia are very strong if they continuously use Ultimate Strike.
