Cao Cao History:
Cao Cao, whose real name was Meng De, was a Chinese warlord and the penultimate chancellor of the Eastern Han dynasty. One of the central figures of the Three Kingdoms period, he laid the foundations for the state of Cao Wei and was posthumously titled “Emperor of Wu of Wei”. He is often portrayed as a cruel and ruthless tyrant in later literary works; however, he is also praised as a talented ruler and military genius who treated his subordinates as his own family. Cao Cao achieved much success as chancellor of the Han dynasty, but his treatment of the Han emperor Liu Xie was heavily criticized and led to an ongoing and later escalating civil war.
