Rise of Kingdoms: Huo Qubing Talent Tree Build and Guide Update 2025

Huo Qubing History:

Huo Qubing was a Chinese general during the reign of Emperor Wu of Han of the Western Han dynasty. He was renowned for his tactical agility and talent for long-distance campaigns, winning numerous battles against the nomadic Xiongnu and expanding Han influence into Central Asia.

Huo Qubing was trusted by Emperor Wu of Han and was sent to the palace to serve as a guard to the emperor. In 123 BC, Emperor Wu sent him to follow his uncle Wei Qing to lead an army to conquer the Xiongnu in the north. He was only 18 years old at that time. During this expedition, Huo Qubing, with only 800 men, advanced deep into Xiongnu territory, beheaded a total of 2,028 Xiongnu soldiers, forcing the Xiongnu army to retreat. At the same time, he also captured the uncle of the Xiongnu Chanyu, Luo Gubi, and killed the Chanyu's grandfather. For this feat, Huo Qubing was praised by Emperor Wu of Han and appointed as the Phieu Dieu Giao Uy and the title of Quan Quan Marquis.

In 121 BC, Emperor Wu of Han promoted Huo Qubing to the rank of General of Flying Cavalry, and ordered him to attack the Xiongnu for the second time. He led a light cavalry force of 10,000 flying cavalrymen west of Longxi and within 6 days advanced 1,000 miles through 5 Xiongnu states, killing 9,000 Xiongnu soldiers and capturing more than 1,000. This victory in Hexi gave the Han Dynasty complete control over the Hexi region, forcing the Xiongnu to retreat north.

Also during this command, Huo Qubing passed through Binh Duong district to meet and recognize his father, Huo Zhongru, and his younger brother, Huo Guang. That same year, Huo Qubing brought Huo Guang back to the capital Chang'an and recommended him to Emperor Wu of Han. Due to his brother's recommendation, Huo Guang, although only about 10 years old, was appointed Lang Jun, then Cao Guan and Shi Zhong.

Later, in 119 BC, Emperor Wu of Han sent 100,000 cavalry to attack the Xiongnu, assigning Huo Qubing and Wei Qing to command 50,000 troops each, and split them into two groups to attack deep into the Xiongnu territory. Huo Qubing advanced westward, chasing the Xiongnu to Langjusian Mountain, while Wei Qing advanced eastward to attack the Xiongnu court. In this battle, he led his army 2,000 miles into Dajun, defeated the Xiongnu army led by King Zuo Xian, and killed 70,443 enemies. From then on, the Xiongnu fled far away and did not dare to return, eliminating the threat of the Xiongnu from threatening the court. Due to this feat, he was appointed Grand General of the Flying Cavalry, while Wei Qing was appointed Grand General of the Phieu Ky Army.

Huo Qubing Review:

Huo Qubing deals massive damage to a single target enemy (Max Damage Coefficient is 2700) and causes the enemy to have a March Slow effect of up to 50% for 3 seconds.

Huo Qubing's third skill (Desert Dragon) gives him 30% Skill Damage Bonus and 150 Rage Reduction required for the first 15 seconds of combat, turning him into a skill-training dragon for 15 seconds! It's worth noting that he's not allowed to garrison a building for 30 seconds before combat starts. After 15 seconds of combat, he loses his buffs and only gains a 10% increase in his normal Attack Damage Bonus. Because of this third skill, you'll want to play a hit-and-run game when using Huo Qubing (leaves combat after 15 seconds), and you won't want to use him as a city-attacking commander.

Huo Qubing was now the top two cavalry commanders along with Alexander Nevsky, and he was able to defeat both infantry (counter-attack cavalry) in the field.

Prioritize upgrading Huo Qubing to 5111, then 5151, then 5551 and finally 5555
