Eulji Mundeok History:
Eulji Mundeok was born in the mid-6th century and died sometime after 618. As one of the most prominent military leaders of the Goguryeo period, Eulji Mundeok's leadership and tactical acumen were crucial in defeating the Sui invasion. Faced with a numerically superior force, he developed a strategy that led to a decisive victory. Such brilliant tactical success earned him a permanent place among Korea's most famous leaders. Kim Bu-sik, author of the Samguk Sagi, also attributed the victory over the Sui to Eulji Mundeok. Today in Korea, Eulji Mundeok is recognized as one of the greatest figures in the country's history.
