Sargon The Great History:
Sargon the Great was born a commoner and spent his early life as a servant in the Kingdom of Kish. When the people of Umma invaded, Sargon took advantage of the king's weakness to seize power and establish the Akkadian Empire.
After taking power, Sargon fought many battles to expand his empire. He created the first reserve army in history and annexed all of Sumer, Mari (a city-state on the Euphrates River), and the ancient kingdom of Ebla to the Akkadian Empire. He then continued westward, expanding into southern and central Anatolia.
Sargon's achievements were not limited to warfare. His empire saw great economic, agricultural, and cultural growth, and he centralized state power and appointed governors, allowing the Akkadian Empire to flourish.
Sargon The Great was not only a brilliant warrior who established the first great unified power between the mighty rivers Tigris and Euphrates. He also focused on economic development, making his empire one of the most powerful economies in the world at the time. The Akkadian Empire only lasted for a hundred years, but its influence on future generations is undeniable, Sargon truly deserved the title “King of the Four Corners of the World”.
