Goresh leans so heavily toward Infantry that you will want to march him with Infantry units. There have been some tests running him with Cavalry, but that is very niche, so it is not recommended for general gameplay.
Best Hero Pairings for Goresh
Skogul as the primary commander works extremely well, giving you a much more versatile mobility talent tree on the open battlefield. Combined with her extra counterattack damage, this is a top-tier pairing to run.
Garwood greatly helps keep Goresh alive while boosting his counterattack capability, making him another great pairing option.
Madeline features counterattack damage that synergizes well with Goresh's 3rd skill, but her shielding mechanics can interfere. While the synergy looks great on paper, you can only trigger one Physical ATK buff at a time, meaning Madeline's buff will be overwritten by Goresh's stronger buff and effectively wasted.
